Hello everyone
I had the unfortunate experience of running out of fuel due to a faulty fuel gauge. It was showing 1/2 a tank but empty.
Apart from the stress of sitting in the emergency lane on the Hume hwy 110 klm zone, RACV arrived put 5 litres in and away I went to the nearest petrol station.
Filled her up noted the miles (as I always do) how ever only got 30.93 litres in add the 5 litres from RACV so it only has a 35 litre tank WTF.
Everything I’ve read , even converting US gallons tells me 40 litres …. Where did the other 5 litres go?
. I was thinking that fuel pick up could be prob however she was running ordinary which was picking up sediment from bottom of the tank, added FUEL Doctor and she is running sweet now so I make the assumption that it’s not fuel pickup.
Also
Recently had the fuel send unit replaced and now the gauge needle has fallen off so I’ll need a new fuel gauge , how hard are they to fit ?
Any advice would be helpful.
Regards
