Golf R32 Pricing

New member
Hey Guys,

Just wonding if anyone has got a good deal on a new mk V R32 this year or last and what i can hope for as a snappy deal (originally was looking to buy a GTI but would probably have to lease an R32 due to the difference).

Was hoping to keep it under 60k driveaway for a Silver 5dr Manual - if possible? I've noticed Audi has started doing free 3yr servicing to entice buyers (but you'd have to negotiate for this as dealers aren't going to give it away) but haven't heard of VW doing such a thing.

What is the current wait on these machines? Seems hard to decide but the S3 is slightly too much (but pretty tempted, would just be a bit outlandish but prob worth the extra). Also a bit hard to say whether the extra $15k is worth it over the GTI for bang for buck and may not be that different around town, but for an enthusiast probably worth it.

Thanks in advance,

I guess if you go down the GTI road you will save and you could also afford to do some serious MODS. It would be quicker than the 32 after some minor adjustments to the ECU but the obvious down side is no Awd.:icon_rolleyes: I also priced the Audi's and they were atleast 10k more on similar models.

.

That is all true.

But not really planning on mods this time round (at least that's the plan) and you still need to put the power down to the road, as the stock GTI's were skidding when i wasn't even trying when taking off from the lights. I like handling even though straight line power is fun the R32 has 184kw which is a lot more than any other cars i've had so should be kewel.

I would have loved the R32 for its handling and it is a rapid car but my Wife is the Boss and I was lucky to get the GTI.

To be honest it's a hard choice as the GTI's tunability is fantastic, plus the are almost as good anyway. I still would have been happy with one (and if i wasn't leasing i'd get that instead).

I've had lots of cars over the years, my last was a 03 SS ute, and this GTI :piss: on it. I think I'll keep it and turn it into a track car in a few years.

I have people sit in front of me day in/day out trying to justify the extra money to jump up to the R32 from GTi and I would agree with most of them that the GTi was better value-bang for buck..BUT!!!!.....after being on a race track going full noise in a demo R32 it seriously felt 10 times better than the GTi because of the noise and the rumble. The only thing that has recently given me the same pleasurable shivers up my spine was the new Type R Civic. No doubt about it!....the Gti is quick but does it make you feel like a racing car driver as much as the R32?......just a thought :)

HI vwsales

It is hard to justify the extra over the GTI as its usually in the order of 10-12k more, and you're right the GTI is better bang for buck plus the after market goodies go well on the GTI.

But - it's limited to front wheel drive - I think you'd notice the difference over uneven road etc when the AWD would feel a lot more stable.

I'm not keen on the new Type R Civic as you have to keep the revs pretty high and the are more like boy-racer cars.. they seem to have a more fun and modern interior, but that could be a bit full on after a while and i'm not very taken by all the plastic on the rear end.

(ps interesting to see a dealer on the forums - if you are.

Well i hope being in vw sales isn't a forum issue but yes I am from a dealer. This forum for a salesperson is a sigh of releif (in a sense) that I can actually talk about the brand without having to mention saftey ratings, change over figures and trade in prices :). People who already know the pro's and con's.

Not at all! It's cool you're interested in the product you are promoting and have a passion in them!

Can't wait till i drive away in my R32.

Hi G-Rig,

I have just ordered a 5 door manual r32 for $57K with no options. I think that's reasonable but possibly could have done a bit better.

When buying cars I always buy off a salesman I am happy with. We were lucky to find 2 good salespeople at the audi and vw dealers this time round. We were also looking at the new S3 to replace my current one but we decided like you 5 doors are much more practical. Also the sound had a bit to do with it !

We are also keeping my s3 the wife has claimed the r32 ...

Hope this gives you an idea on pricing.

Thanks for that - i could have done a bit better too, but upgraded from a GTI, so couldn't re-negotiate too much - could probably have tried for tinted windows, but will take it to someone with better quality films..

Taking delievery in 3-4 weeks so avoided a long wait. Did that include metallic paint? They didn't charge me for that, and getting a full tank of gas.

Should be a great car!

Metallic paint is included in the price for all R32's. We wanted a black one so it's still on the ship from germany. Should be here by mid may.

Yes, it should be a great car, the more reading I do the better it sounds. Still have to get used to the NA feel after the S3.

The wife is already demanding that 'her' car has more power than mine.

Certain a different feel from the turbo kicking in but should be a more natural power curve (Honda's feel nice in that respect but still lacking a bit of power IMO).

The good thing about the R32 is that it comes with most stuff you need and i didn't bother with any Options either. Nice not having to upgrade wheels etc. Just not sure about the stero, whether it's upgraded from the GTI. Hopefully it's good enough.

Cheers,

Great deal and price from VW on a NEW Facelift R32 !!

Great deal and price from VW on a NEW Facelift R32 !!

Hey all,

New to the forum but here we go!

Just Bought a NEW (Facelift) R32 5 door with DSG at the start of the month and awaiting arrival of the new beast...

For anyone that is looking around at VW Dealers (vic) as i went to i think all of them checking stock and x demos and pricing, I can VERY VERY Much say that I got a Great deal and price and service from Brent Smith (Brand / Branch Manager) Of Barlo Volkswagen at Glen Waverley...He beat all other prices and was extremly good with service and no pulling your leg about stock on hand and delivery times and dates ... some other dealers say they have stock but when it came to it they had nothing....

Soo this means that i have the Current car a 2003 VW Bora 4 Motion with only 55,500 Kms on the clock and 1 family owner (firstly my father then i bought it from them)... Now still under Factory warranty, it has 2 x new tyres and a complete service history..Silver with Black leather and all the standard stuff

My car is Bathed and cleand EVERY WEEK.... it is looked after and with only this many Kms i think one of the lowest Kms on the market at the moment!! If your seeking a Great car for yourself or a friend or a First car for a kid then this is a Perfect one for you to think about....

If your interested the car can be seen at North Ringwood by appointment and any questions are welcome..... Car MUST go by the end of the month... Just reduced the price to only $24,990.00

Call me and have a chat : Tony 0411-707-547

And the only reason for selling it is the Purchase of my New Toy....

burble burble is my new R32 heheeheeh Cannt WAIT....

Hi mate,

R32 Should be fantastic.. I'm expecting mine in a few weeks - also a new 2008 model. When you say face lift, what is different? Only wheels and MP3 compatible stero? I'm keen to know but didn't really ask.

With the bora, you should chuck something in the For Sale section as well, could get some more interest.

Cheers,

Hey thanks I Know the wheels and MP-3 are both changed, walnut inserts is now no longer a option, But that is all although my Father also has a R32 07 model in 5 door with dsg and not sure but heard from someone else that they upgraded the globes in the lights front and rear but not able to confirm it with VW as yet....

What colour and config did you order they might be both on the same batch.... I have a 5 door dsg in blue with Anthracite leather... Maybe we will be twins LOL:clap::icon_razz:

I just talked to VW and the car is awaiting compliance in Perth then onto a train then unload in melb and predelivery and cleanup then pickup about the end of the month or earlier...Cant wait!!!

I didn't think there was too much that is different, although Latte Macchiato Leather could be a new choice for GTI and R32?

Blue 5 door Manual, Black leather (or Anthracite whatever it is). Didn't feel the need to load up on extras as i did with the GTI, as it comes with the goodies i want =D.

I was lucky to get my name on one that was 'unclaimed' that just came into Sydney so shouldn't be too far away now.

It's a pretty hard choice but decided against DSG in the end. Also helps keep the price down on the R32, where i may have gone for DSG on a GTI but like the interaction of driving a manual.

Congrats
You too!
