New driveshaft needed. OEM or other??

Hi to all VW enthusiasts. My VW MK5 R32 requires a new front LH driveshaft. Now I have just been quoted $890 for a new driveshaft complete with CV joints and boots. $1450 including labour and a few bolts WOW!

Now a mob called Direct Spares Automotive do one for $160. How can there be such a difference in price??

I reckon I could do this myself with a friends help. He's got a hoist. Where in Adelaide or Australia could I get a quality item at a good price??

sounds like a huge difference. ring around a few independents to see what they would charge for the part.
